The Fan Park of the Tour de France opens its doors in Bilbao

The Fan Park of the Tour de France opens its doors in Bilbao

El Arenal de Bilbao hosts since yesterday, the Fun Park that will allow fans to "immerse themselves in the cycling atmosphere" that the Tour de France brings to the city, with stands for sponsors, animations, games, gifts, a giant zip line, bicycle exhibition or tracks to learn to ride a bike.

The Fun Park was inaugurated this afternoon by the director of the Tour de France, Christian Prudhomme, the Minister of Culture and Language Policy of the Basque Government, Bingen Zupiria, the mayor of Bilbao, Juan María Aburto, and the deputy for Economic Promotion of the Provincial Council of Bizkaia, Ainara Basurko.

The event was also attended by the Bilbao councilor for Citizen Security, Amaia Arregi, and for Economic Development, Trade and Employment, Xabier Ochandiano, as well as the General Director of Territorial Competitiveness and Tourism of the Provincial Council of Bizkaia, Cristina Múgica. The group has been accompanied on their visit by 'Maxoo', the official mascot of the Tour de France.

The public that travels to this area, which has free access, will also be able to enjoy exhibitions by herri kirolak or euskal dantzak, as well as being able to follow live, on a giant screen, both the presentation of the Tour teams this afternoon and the day opening on Saturday. It will also have a space, free of alcohol, where visitors can enjoy different food trucks.

The Fan Park is located in the Arenal sheds and will be open this Thursday until nine at night, this Friday from ten in the morning until nine at night, and on Saturday from ten in the morning until six at the afternoon.
