This is the best-selling car and brand in Spain in April and so far this year

The sale of new passenger cars and SUVs in Spain grew by 23.1% in April, with 92,000 registrations. This notable increase compared to the same month last year has a reason: there have been more sales business days because in 2023 all of Easter was celebrated in April. This also explains why sales fell 4.7% last March. According to the data provided by the manufacturers' association, Anfac, the sum of registrations for the aforementioned two months was 186,840 units, which is 7.2% more than the same period in 2023. This calculation eliminates the seasonal effect of the Holy Week.

In total for the year, registrations accumulate 336,726 units, 7.8% more than the same quarter of the previous year. Although, it should be noted that sales are still 23% below the pre-pandemic records of 2019.

If we focus on the best-selling models and brands in Spain, we can say that there are two undisputed leaders. The Dacia Sandero remains the most popular model, while Toyota is the brand with the most registrations. The compact car from the Renault group registered 3,380 deliveries in April, ahead of the Seat Ibiza (2,520 units), the Renault Clio (2,379), the Seat Arona (2,346 units) and the Citroën C3 (2,141 units).

The Toyota Yaris (2,080 units), the Volkswagen T-ROC (2,068 units), the Toyota Corolla (2,011 units), the Hyundai Tucson (1,926 units) and the Opel Corsa (1,853 units) complete the ten best-selling models of April.

In the cumulative total of the year until April, the Dacia Sandero remains in first position as the best-selling car nationwide, with 10,541 units, while the Toyota Corolla follows behind, in second position with 8,252 units and the Seat Arona completes the podium with 7,475 units.

Closing out the Top 10 of the best-selling vehicles in the first four months of the year are the Nissan Qashqai (7,344 units), the Seat Ibiza (7,343 units), the Hyundai (7,181 units), the MG ZS (6,748 units), the Renault Clio (6,682 units), the Peugeot 2008 (6,112 units) and the Yaris Cross (5,930 units).
