The Consell approves a shock plan with 340 employees in the face of the collapse of the Valencian ITV

The board of directors of the Valencian Society of Technical Vehicle Inspection (Sitval) has approved this Thursday “an immediate shock plan” in the face of the collapse of the ITVs in the Valencian Community. As this newspaper recently explained, getting an appointment to pass this mandatory inspection has become an almost impossible challenge since in most stations it is impossible to get a date in the next three months. A situation that, as consumer associations have denounced, has caused some citizens who saw their permit expiring to leave for other communities for fear of a fine.

Faced with this situation, the Minister of Innovation, Industry, Commerce and Tourism, Nuria Montes, has announced the approval of a shock plan that will allow the hiring of 90 additional permanent workers to equate the workforce to that which existed before the reversion to the public system. . Likewise, Montes has announced the approval of a temporary pool of 250 employees, which will mean a reinforcement of 340 people to try to normalize the situation.

The Sitval board has also approved, as planned, the service for the implementation and maintenance of the ITV management computer system to be carried out by the firm Creativa Digital 360 S.L for an amount of 1,330,968 euros plus VAT and the duration of the contract. extends up to 42 months.

Likewise, it has been approved to award a new telephone service system for receiving calls requesting an appointment at ITV stations to NUNSYS, S.A. for an amount of 2,259,320 euros plus VAT and the expected duration of the contract reaches three years.

Finally, Montes has announced the creation of a special plan for professional transport with a specific line for professional transport. This plan consists of dedicating a specific line of attention for those users who urgently need to pass the ITV for work reasons when being the vehicle is your main work tool.

In this way, the Ministry of Industry explains, a response is given to the demands of the most representative road transport and passenger federations and associations of the Valencian Community before the Generalitat.

The councilor has not missed the opportunity to blame the chaotic situation experienced by the Valencian stations on the previous government that decided to revert the service to the Public Administration. Montes has pointed out that “the chaotic situation we have now is not new. The unions already warned SITVAL of the different problems without their demands being attended to by the previous government team that, during the two years it had, did practically nothing to organize the reversal of the public service."
