Brussels 2030, in search of the cycling world championship

Belgium breathes cycling. With events as mythical as those held during the Flemish week, the bicycle is part of the Belgian DNA. What we do know is that the public will not be missing and if anyone doubts it is only necessary to see a small fragment of any edition of the Tour of Flanders.

The championship would be held in and around Brussels. The Belgian capital, oddly enough, has never hosted a world championship and the closest precedent within Belgium is found in 2021 when the Flanders region hosted the different events.

Belgium is an established superpower in cycling and any local could be a favorite to win the rainbow in Brussels 2030. In fact, they are the nation with the most gold medals in world championships, with 27, and surely the objective will be to continue expanding the list of winners before bring the great festival of cycling to Brussels in seven years' time.
