Baldoví claims the proximity of Compromís: "Sánchez and Feijóo are not your choices"

The campaigns serve to measure moods and, after exceeding the expectations and the unambitious thousand seats that Compromís had planned for its central campaign meeting in Valencia, the Valencian coalition has achieved a shot of energy to try to revalidate a progressive government in the Valencian Community.

His candidate for the Presidency of the Generalitat, Joan Baldoví, with his voice touched after traveling 30,000 kilometers -as he has been in charge of remarking-, has claimed these eight years of co-management in the Valencian Government and has wanted to make clear the strength of his party . "We will win these elections from the proximity, no one wins us there."

In this line, the former deputy in Congress, after welcoming the national leaders of PSOE and PP, has emphasized: "Welcome to València Sánchez and Feijóo, but these are not your elections." As the mayor of Valencia and candidate for re-election, Joan Ribó, has also stressed, these elections are the elections of "the towns and cities and everything that matters".

Both leaders have tried to convince those present to focus on the Valencian problems. Likewise, Baldoví has assured that in the face of the passive attitude of the PSPV and PP candidates, Ximo Puig and Carlos Mazón, he “will not be silenced by anyone: we need fair financing and we will not stop until we achieve it. Enough of excuses, we want it now ”, he assured.

Between shouts of "president, president", Baldoví has unleashed: "Each vote in Compromís will guarantee a Botànic that is more vindicative before the central government. Because our strength does not come from Madrid, but rather from each Valencian man and woman who chooses our ballot" .

In the key week of the campaign, with the most equal polls impossible, all those who took the floor have highlighted the need to convince the undecided and to use "word of mouth" from the towns and cities to "bust the polls" . In this sense, the number two for Valencia, Maraa Josep Amigó has called "for the great mobilization that is accompanying us from town to town in this campaign, demonstrating that we are the force of proximity".

Accustomed to being underrepresented in the polls, the latest ones published (with some exceptions) place them in a result similar to that of 2019. "And the campaigns feel good to us," they pointed out from the coalition, convinced that the formation has left behind the bad omens from less than a year ago now and that, in the remainder of the campaign, the demoscopic forecasts can still be improved.

During the two hours of interventions, the calls for mobilization have been constant. Many allusions have been made to the corruption of the PP, which held its central campaign event at the same time in the Valencia bullring, which Baldoví has referred to as "the place of the crime".

Compromís, as it is doing throughout the campaign, has chosen to compare both models. The clearest has been the head of the list for Castello, Vicent Marzà. The former Minister of Education has used the same formula that Ximo Puig did yesterday, and has presented Compromís as the "antidote against those of hatred (Vox) and against those of business (PP)". "Kryptonite is Baldoví," he added. And it is that Marzà has pointed out that in these elections it is necessary to decide between "rights or rights" between "Baldoví or Zaplana" (alluding to Carlos Mazón).

For her part, the candidate for Alicante and vice-president of the Consell, Aitana Mas has defended "the eight years of political stability in which political plurality has been the antidote to corruption".

The candidate for Alicante did not want to close her speech without claiming her origin and the importance of this constituency in electoral terms. "Alicante is not for rent in this country, we are and we feel co-owners". To which she added: “The reconquest will come from the south. The south and Compromís will make Baldoví president of the Generalitat”.
