The multinational distribution company Lidl has reported, in its network information, the withdrawal of a batch of one of its products, a sausage manufactured by a company from Bercia, in León, after detecting listeria. It is a batch of cecina sliced in olive oil produced by the company Friber S.A., dedicated to the meat sector for 50 years.
It was the company itself that raised the alarm after detecting this bacterium in the batch that has an expiration date of July 11.
Specifically, the Listeria monocytogenes bacterium has been located in it, which is very harmful to pregnant women, but also to other consumers who may suffer from serious gastrointestinal diseases and flu-like symptoms.
For this reason, the company has requested its return at any brand establishment, which will be in charge of returning the purchase money. Now, Friber will review the entire batch and carry out a series of counter-analysis to see in which part of the production and sale process the contagion has occurred, according to sources from the firm.
