A 35-year-old woman has been sentenced to 14 weeks in prison and received a restraining order for ten years; in addition to the ban on attending any of the concerts of the singer Harry Styles, 30, whom she has been harassing since the beginning of the year and to whom she sent more than 8,000 handwritten letters to the artist, including some wedding invitations.
Myra Carvalho received this sentence from a judge at Harrow Court, after pleading guilty on Tuesday to a charge of harassment causing alarm or serious distress, according to judicial sources. In addition to the restraining orders, the woman will not be able to contact the artist, either directly or indirectly. Carvalho must also pay a fine of 156 euros.
Court documents show that Carvalho, of Brazilian origin, arrived in the United Kingdom in December 2023 in order to meet his idol. After temporarily seeking accommodation in a tourist hostel, he began to write letters to her after obtaining his address, going to his home on two occasions to hand-deliver them to him.
Carvalho pleaded not guilty to the charges of which he is accused last February at the preliminary hearing. Even so, she was taken into police custody until this new hearing of the case, which ultimately sent her to prison. The woman also revealed that her family in Brazil did not know that she had traveled to the United Kingdom. In that preview, Carvalho stated that she had "sexual impulses" towards the singer and actor.

The singer had just returned from a vacation with his partner, Taylor Russell, and could not believe what had happened.
