The two "brothers in love" with children who cannot legally marry: "Marriage is prohibited"

The case of Ana and Daniel, two young people in love with the Barcelona town of Granollers, shook social networks just a month ago. Theirs would be one more love story among many, even with two children in common, if it weren't for one less significant detail: they are both brothers.

The young people met through the same platforms that today have been in charge of analyzing their situation with hair and signs. Chance wanted Ana to fall in love with her brother, Daniel, as soon as she found out about their relationship, since she never got to know him as such. The reason: her father abandoned her when she was little.

This particular story has reached the ears of Ya es mediodía. The Telecinco program has assured that Ana knew from the beginning that she "had a brother", without further details about her identity. When she turned 20, she managed to locate Daniel through social media, and the two fell in love with each other despite the "numerous criticism" they received.

In fact, although they initially tried to keep their courtship a secret, they even went to a television set to talk about their case. It was in 2016, in the Cámbiame program, and they were also harshly criticized for it, even leading to the withdrawal of various brands from their advertising. However, nothing has been able to stop their love and their current wish is to get married, despite the fact that the Spanish Civil Code prohibits marriage between siblings.

The couple will go to The Ana Rosa program tomorrow Thursday to talk about their situation. For this reason, Ya es mediodía, from the same chain, has contacted the lawyer José Luis Cebrano, an expert in this type of matter, to find out all the legal details about this case. "When there is a consanguinity relationship, marriage between them is prohibited," he assured, adding that these events "are almost movie scripts."

With what Ana and Daniel have not had so much problem is with the registration of their children, who were born "healthy and strong" as the presenter of the program, Joaquín Prat, remembers. "The Civil Registry Law goes the other way, and establishes filiation based on paternal and maternal surnames," Cebrano has sentenced in this regard.
