Ángel Cristo attacks 'Survivors' and calls Bárbara Rey, his mother, a "child abuser"

Last Thursday, March 7, a new edition of Survivientes started on Telecinco. There was great expectation for the return of Jorge Javier Vázquez to television and to know if the program would increase the ratings of the channel, which is not going through its best moment. After broadcasting the first gala, the Mediaset leadership was very satisfied with the results, since the premiere of the reality show garnered a spectacular 21.7% screen share and 1,645,000 viewers on average.

Although we are facing a very varied and striking cast of contestants, there are profiles that stand out above the others: Carmen Borrego, Zayra Gutiérrez, Pedro García Aguado, Arkano, etc. Another of the names that has been the most talked about in recent months is Ángel Cristo Jr., son of the iconic star Bárbara Rey.

Everyone knows the bad relationship between Sofía Cristo's brother and his mother, since a few months ago he sat on the set of the program ¡De Friday! and accused the presenter of not being a good mother and of having burdened her with responsibilities throughout her childhood.

Cristo's words were so harsh that Bárbara Rey and Sofía Cristo decided to take legal action against their relative. Furthermore, both were distressed upon learning that Ángel would participate in the new edition of the Mediaset program, since this means that the controversy would not cease for several months.

The first days of the contest have been very hard for the Madrid native, since he has argued with the vast majority of his teammates and has had several fights with Carmen Borrego, Zayra Gutiérrez and Mario González.

During yesterday's program, which Carlos Sobera presented, the organization wanted to have a little something with him and congratulate him on his birthday. When Sobera explained that he was going to publicly read the letter that his mother had sent him and that, supposedly, he had already read privately, the contestant stopped him.

''I don't need to hear any letter from my mother, and it has never reached me privately. I'm very sorry, but I have nothing to hear from my mother,'' the contestant said.

Ángel Cristo Jr. refused to receive the letter, so the presenter closed microphones and read its contents to the audience. To the public's surprise, Bárbara Rey's text sought to bring her closer to her son and presented a conciliatory tone.

When the program reconnected with Honduras, Cristo was very angry: ''I don't know how you can accommodate a child abuser on this program. That's never a gift." Without really knowing what to say, Sobera gave way to Ana, the contestant's partner, who sent him some words of encouragement and affection.
