Maxus T90 EV, the first electric pickup to be sold in Europe comes from China

The Chinese automobile brand Maxus, belonging to the large Asian group SAIC, launches the T90 EV electric pick-up on the European market, exhibited at the latest edition of Automobile Barcelona. It is the first zero-emission alternative in this segment that can be purchased on the Old Continent. Although Ford and Volkswagen are also preparing proposals, to which will be added the future Ebro model (seen in prototype form at the aforementioned Ciudad Condal fair), still none of them can be purchased.

The T90 EV is presented as a robust, reliable double cab pick-up with a payload capacity of one ton. The mara ensures that it offers good behavior and performance both on asphalt and off road areas.

Powered by an electric motor with a power of 130 kW (equivalent to 177 HP) and a torque of 310 Nm, this car mounts an 89 kWh battery that offers a range of about 330 kilometers in combined cycle. This figure increases to 471 km on urban routes.

The time required to recharge the vehicle will depend on the electrical outlet to which it is plugged. Maxus ensures that in a direct current connection of 80 kW you can go from 20% to 80% of the energy capacity in 45 minutes.

In terms of equipment, this five-seater model has a wide range of safety equipment as standard (see attached box). In the central part of the dashboard it incorporates a 10.25-inch touch screen for the infotainment system.

The T90 EV is already available in the brand's dealer network in Spain for a price starting at 40,979 euros (this rate has already applied the commercial discount and the MOVES III plan -€9,000- with scrapping-, but does not include transport and taxes). The guarantee is 5 years or 100,000 kilometers -whichever comes first-. Likewise, it has a guarantee for traction battery wear that maintains a capacity greater than 70% for 8 years or 200,000 km.
