Beyond her paternal grandparents, Juan Carlos I and Doña Sofía, and her maternal grandparents, just over fifty deputies have already announced that they will not be in Congress. Yes, the 122 deputies of the PSOE, the 136 of the PP, the 33 of Vox and the UPN and the CC will be present.
On Sumar's part, only the leader of the formation and second vice president of the acting Government, Yolanda Díaz, will go; her parliamentary spokesperson, Marta Lois, and the vice president of the Congress Board, Esther Gil, since the first secretary of the Board, Gerardo Pisarello, announced this Monday that he will not attend. Thus, 28 of the 31 deputies will be absent from Sumar.
The commons will be represented by the Minister of Universities, Joan Subirats, who is not a deputy, for "responsibility with the functions of Government and to guarantee a minimum institutional presence." The Podemos ministers, Ione Belarra and Irene Montero, will not attend the event either, as will the Minister of Consumption, Alberto Garzón (IU).
These absences will be added to that of the deputies of the independence and nationalist parties. This will not be the case for the 7 from Junts, the 7 from ERC, the 6 from EH Bildu, the 5 from the PNV, nor the BNG deputy.
The presidents of the Autonomous Communities will also attend the event, except for the president of the Generalitat, Pere Aragonès and the Lehendakari, Iñigo Urkullu, following the position of their respective parties. The Cantabrian president, María José Sáenz de Buruaga (PP), who plans to approve the community's budgets for 2024 at a meeting of the government council, will also not be there.
