The PSOE now only sets one deadline for the investiture: November 27

The calendar and the rush have played tricks on the PSOE. From thinking that everything was a matter of hours last week to only marking a deadline for the investiture of Pedro Sánchez. That of November 27, the day on which if the head of the Executive has not been elected, the Cortes will be dissolved and general elections will be called for January 14. This was indicated by the Minister of Education and national spokesperson for the PSOE, Pilar Alegría.

"The deadline is November 27," Alegría repeatedly repeated when interviewed on TVE and asked when the PSOE expected the investiture. "Haste is never a good advisor," acknowledged the head of Education, who recalled that from the first day since Sánchez received the order to present himself for the investiture, the PSOE has dedicated itself to closing agreements with its partners.

Meanwhile, the contacts and exchanges of documents between Junts and the PSOE in Brussels do not stop to try to close the most difficult agreement while also waiting to secure the support of the PNV. The two delegations continued negotiating last night and continue to do so "intensely," say sources familiar with the negotiation. "Little by little," Alegría pointed out this Wednesday in contrast to the rush that seemed to exist last week for Sánchez to be inaugurated this week.

Sánchez's initial intention was to be at the summit of heads of state and government and European socialist leaders being held this weekend in Malaga as head of the Executive in full office, an aspiration that fades as the hours go by. since an agreement with Junts should be subsequently ratified by the National Council and by the militancy. In any case, Alegría has confirmed Sánchez's presence at the socialist meeting in Malaga.

Regarding the pitfalls of the negotiation with Junts, the PSOE spokesperson did not want to give details and admitted that "all drafting of agreements must be done calmly and rigorously", which is why she once again prescribed "caution, rigor and prudence".

The number three of the PSOE, Santos Cerdán, slept one more night at the Sofitel hotel in Brussels, and for now, he has already extended the room until Thursday, as a precaution, to try to close the pact with Junts.

But the pro-independence party insists on increasing the scope of application of the amnesty law, to include people close to former Catalan president Carles Puigdemont, not directly linked to the process but who according to Junts are victims of judicial persecution or lawfare. These include the head of Puigdemont's office, Josep Lluís Alay, the ex-condeller Miquel Buch, or his lawyer Gonzalo Boye, pending trial in the National Court for alleged money laundering and document falsification when he was defending the Galician drug trafficker Sito Miñanco. .
