The PP demands that Sanchez retract his words about the assault on the fence of Melilla

The PP "deplores the serious events" that occurred in the Melilla valley, with the death of an undetermined number of people, 21 recognized by Morocco, and for this reason demands that it "retract" its statements in which it assured that the government Moroccan had solved the assault on the fence well. The PP is not of this opinion, and believes that "Sánchez's chameleon personality" makes him now adopt this position, simply to please Morocco.

The leadership of the PP approved this morning an institutional declaration on the events in Melilla, read at a press conference by the person in charge of Institutional Policy, Esteban González Pons, in which he speaks of a "massive assault with terrible loss of human life and injuries".

"In no case can it be affirmed that the outcome is well resolved and we ask that this statement be retracted, because no death can be indifferent," says the statement, which also offers its support to the State Security Forces and Bodies, although it criticizes the "precarious conditions" in which the government forces the police to work, for which it asks them to "make available resources" and make an effort so that there is "more persecution of the mafias."

The PP also requires the Government of Sánchez "greater foresight" because for the popular what happened shows "that security and immigration control have not been consolidated" contrary to what Pedro Sánchez "to justify a unilateral change in foreign policy" , in relation to the position on the Sahara. For the PP, "with early action such a concentration would not have occurred."

The PP, which requests the appearance of Sánchez in Congress, to explain his statements and the events, since in his opinion everything that happened must be clarified, considers that "migratory flows must be orderly and respectful of legality."

The statement also asks the government to "demand that the protection of the territorial integrity of the member states is included in the new strategic concept, and there is no room for doubt" at the NATO meeting, because until now, the phrase referring to the territorial integrity makes no allusion to Ceuta and Melilla, and that phrase "could well refer to separatist movements".

González Pons stressed that Sánchez "is the president who welcomed the Aquarius with open arms" and that does not match the fact that he now says that "so many deaths are a settled matter." That is why the PP finds it "incredible to see the president say that more than 30 deaths is a well-resolved issue, something is not working in that government of socialists and Podemos, which has to do with morality," he said.

Regarding the renewal of the General Council of the Judiciary, Esteban González Pons insisted that the PP is not going to break off the negotiations, but criticized the Government for making the reform in order to renew the magistrates of the TC, for which he summons the Executive to withdraw its reform, or to extend it so that not only the Council can appoint the magistrates of the Constitutional Court, but also the magistrates of the Supreme Court, as the PP requests in its negotiation, and continue the declarations from there. For this reason, the PP will present its proposal to renew the Council within the period it had announced, mid-July.

For the PP, "we would be entitled to break off the negotiation", according to González Pons, "but we are not going to do it, because we have more sense of state than the Government of Spain". But they draw the conclusion that after the Andalusian elections, the PP is in a hurry to control the institutions of the State. It cannot be denied, according to Pons, "that he had the CIS under his control, that he already had the CNI under his control and that he already controlled the prosecutor's office, but after the elections he has launched himself into control of Indra, the TC and the INE", and all "because it has lost the elections in Andalusia".

And it is that the CIS "does electoral surveys", the INE is responsible for the census, and Indra "is the one who counts the votes". Despite these criticisms, González Pons stressed that "we fully trust the professionals of these institutions and we believe that the electoral system is serious, deserves respect and that it can be trusted with closed eyes, but we do not trust Sánchez's will" .

Regarding the new anti-crisis decree, the PP has not defined its position, and recognizes that there are two measures that the PP requested, the reduction of VAT on electricity and the 200-euro check, but considers that "it leaves out the protection to the middle and working classes" by not lowering personal income tax. That is why they wait to know the decree in detail to express their position, because "there is no structural measure."
