The ‘LaVanguardia.com’ Reader Pages give more participation options

The new Reader Pages of the Readers' Network on the La Vanguardia website have quickly become an effective loyalty tool, as they offer more participation options and more visibility.

With your Reader Page, readers can group in their profile all their content published in the newspaper. This allows them to find them more easily, generate their own newspaper library and the rest of the readers can follow the publications they share.

"Any of the options open to participation in La Vanguardia, not only represent the opportunity to give visibility to great talents and voices, in multiple fields and disciplines, but also, in a boomerang effect, reverts to the newspaper itself due to reader loyalty that this entails", points out Cristina Maruri, from Bilbao, who has her own Reader's Page.

"The Participation section, through the different possibilities it offers, such as opening and maintaining this personalized page for its readers, places La Vanguardia in a leadership, pioneering, and futuristic framework," says Maruri, assessing its experience.

These Reader Page profiles include first and last name (signature) and can even incorporate a brief biographical introduction and photograph. More and more readers want to be part of this community that in a short time has already accumulated more than 200 personalized pages on the La Vanguardia website, a service that is not only arousing growing interest, but whoever participates, He values it very highly.

One of the Reader Pages with the most followers is that of the photographer Isaura Marcos, a Poor Clare nun from the Pedralbes monastery in Barcelona, whose photographs accumulate thousands of fans. “I am very happy, for me it is very gratifying to be able to have this page in La Vanguardia, because the articles that accompany my photos are super good and promote cultural and artistic information”, highlights Isaura Marcos.

When readers share their photos, they accompany them with descriptive text. In order for these images to be published, the article must have a minimum of five paragraphs of information. If the data provided by the reader is not enough, the journalists from the Participation section are in charge of completing it. The readers' photos give rise to the preparation of reports, interviews and current news.

Reader Pages allow you to share various content, not only photos, but also videos, challenges, texts or illustrations. In Correspondent Readers, chronicles from all over the world are published and, in Expert Readers, specialists in different subjects publish their analyses.

The psychiatrist Ramon Andreu Anglada, who psychoanalyzes political and social news in Spain from his Reader's Page, has just published the book Psychoanalysis of dysfunctional Spain, the first with texts previously published in full on the newspaper's Readers' Network. "My golden dream was to write in La Vanguardia and I have achieved it in my old age," he confesses.

Reader Pages are intergenerational. They bring together young people and adults, parents and children, couples. The pediatrician Joaquín Callabed has already published more than 150 expert content. "I have an excellent opinion about this initiative," says Callabed, who, as a member of the Readers' Network, was able to present his latest book at the La Vanguardia stand on the last Sant Jordi. It is another of the advantages of Reader Pages.

In addition, Reader Group pages have also recently been created, where they can be grouped by affinity on the same profile page shared with other readers. These pages are the means to be able to publish in the newspaper content of creative, leisure, artistic, educational, informative, scientific and solidarity initiatives, especially in the cultural and social sphere, without profit. Each page of the Group of Readers is associated with its own profile, with a brief introductory text and its own image, as well as up to three coordinating readers.

"The experience is amazing, gratifying, challenging, creative, one more degree in artistic evolution," says Tomás Mielke, one of the three coordinators of the TAWcultural page, which brings together 150 readers from Estepona (Málaga), who share their content on the La Vanguardia website. In addition, regular participation has a prize, since it gives the right to the best subscription offer to the newspaper (1 euro per month).
