The Generalitat Valenciana gives the green light to the environmental evaluation of the Parc Sagunt II polygon

The Generalitat Valenciana, through the Ministry of Ecological Transition, has approved the environmental impact assessment of the Parc Sagunt II urbanization project, where the PowerCo battery gigafactory will be located.

In this way, Espais Económics Empresarials, a public company dependent on the Generalitat Valenciana, can advance in the pending procedures for the start of the inner urbanization works of the polygon. From the Generalitat they emphasize that the Valencian government fulfills another milestone of its commitments for the construction of the factory of the Volkswagen Group in Sagunto.

The approved impact assessment contemplates, among others, various requests from the Sagunto City Council, such as the obligation of Espais Econòmics Empresarials to provide a comprehensive solution to the supply of drinking water in the area, as well as industrial water for manufacturing processes. .

Likewise, the new polygon reserves a portion of land for the new Sagunt treatment plant, to be built by the EPSAR, a work demanded and expected in the municipality of Sagunt and one of the City Council's requests in this regard.

Finally, the obligation to restore at least 604.4 ha of new forest land is introduced, or the obligation to pay, by the promoter of the Generalitat, forestry work in forest areas in at least 1,600 ha.
