The Provincial Court of Valencia has sentenced a man to ten years in prison for continuously sexually abusing two minors, granddaughters of his partner, whom he subjected to touching on various occasions over several years.

The sentence establishes a sentence of ten years in prison, ten years of prohibition of approach and communication and 10,000 euros of compensation for moral damages for the continued crime of sexual abuse committed with respect to each of the victims.

As the Court has proven, the convicted man had a relationship lasting about 30 years with the girls' paternal grandmother, so he had treatment with them similar to that of a grandfather with his granddaughters.

The little girls regularly went to the home where their grandmother and the prisoner lived, who took advantage of the relationship of trust that united him with the victims to touch them of a sexual nature when he was alone with them in the house.

This happened on several occasions between 2013 and 2018 with one of the minors, when she was between 11 and 15 years old. During one of these abuses, the girl struggled and screamed to free herself from the accused and lock herself in the bathroom.

The other victim was touched on more than five occasions on different days between 2016 and 2019, from when she was 10 years old until she turned 13. In April 2020, the two minors and their mother reported the events to the Civil Guard.

The Second Section of the Hearing has applied to the convicted person the aggravating circumstance of recidivism for one of the two continuing crimes of sexual abuse, since he had been sentenced to one year in prison previously, in 2014, as the author of a crime of corruption of minors. .

The sentence is not final and can be appealed before the Civil and Criminal Chamber of the Superior Court of Justice of the Valencian Community (TSJCV).
