Circumpolar of the Pedra Gentil dolmen

Circumpolar or startrails (star trails) are a type of photography that uses long exposure times to capture the apparent movement of stars in the night sky due to the Earth's rotation.

In this case, I share in Las Fotos de los Lectores de La Vanguardia this circumpolar dolmen of Pedra Gentil, a megalithic structure in the municipality of Vallgorguina, in Vallès Oriental.

The dolmen, about 4,000 years old, is a so-called single-chamber tomb. In addition, it is traditionally associated with legends about witch encounters.

This dolmen is located within the Parc del Montnegre and the Corredor and very close to the ruins of the church of Santa Eulàlia de Tapioles.

There are other superstitions about this place. The fishermen of Maresme used to say that when there were big clouds over the mountains where the dolmen is located, it meant that they would have rough seas.
