Baena: "There are lies that hurt more than blows"

Alex Baena, the Villarreal player attacked by Fede Valverde in the Santiago Bernabéu parking lot at the end of Real Madrid-Villarreal on Saturday, posted a statement on social media this Monday night with his version of what happened and to criticize the version of the Uruguayan midfielder.

The statement is as follows: "Last Saturday I was attacked by a colleague at the end of the game against Real Madrid. After the event, some statements allegedly made by those around him came to light, in which it was said that he had wanted to the pain of a family member. Since then, and how can it be otherwise, no evidence has been published to prove the facts that are imputed to me".

And he continues: "A misfortune was used to justify the aggression and there are lies that hurt more than the blows. The damage that is being done to my family is irreparable and unjustifiable: threats, insults and even private messages wishing my family death "

And he ends: "Yesterday I reported the case to the police. Let justice do its job. Now, my only objective is to focus on my profession and help my club achieve its objectives."

Real Madrid maintains the version of its player, in which it is reaffirmed that Alex Baena's provocations towards Fede Valverde in the two games (the one in the Cup on January 19 and the one on Saturday in the League) were constant and in the line that ensures the Uruguayan player.
