Aragón Logistics Platform, awarded at the SIL for its promotion of the sector

Aragón Plataforma Logística (APL), the public company that manages the Aragonese Government's commitment to this strategic sector, has been awarded at the 25th edition of the International Logistics Exhibition (SIL) for the work carried out within the framework of this benchmark event that has been held this week in Barcelona. In addition to collecting this award during "La Nit de la Logística", APL has had an outstanding presence during the three days of the international fair, where it has shown the strategic assets that the Autonomous Community has at its own stand, as well as the successes achieved in recent years and the main projects underway.

These include the expansion of the Zaragoza Platform (Plaza) and the new logistics-industrial facilities in Zuera, as well as key infrastructure such as the Zaragoza-Algeciras railway motorway, which will connect the Aragonese capital with the port of communication with Africa and This will allow us to continue expanding the multimodal transport offer and promoting the train as a sustainable transport option. In this area, the improvement projects in the terminals of the different public platforms also stand out. In Teruel (Platea), the expansion works of its siding are already being carried out to adapt it to European standards, offering yet another competitive advantage for the companies installed there.

The APL stand -surrounded by the main companies in the sector, such as the Spanish ports or Adif-, in addition to hosting presentations on logistics projects in Aragon, has allowed companies and organizations to show the entire offer of land available on the platforms of the Autonomous Community, which currently have more than 21 million square meters of surface area and in which leading companies such as Amazon, Inditex, B/S/H, MSC, and many more are installed.

Aragón Plataforma Logística has thus defended in the International Exhibition the geostrategic position of the Autonomous Community, the infrastructures and all the work carried out through this strategic project of the Government of Aragon to promote the development of the logistics sector in the region, recognized at a national level and international. In this way, participation in the SIL has served as a showcase to show Aragon as a benchmark and bet for the future for potential investors, thanks to its extensive network of rail, air and sea connections, the promotion of public-private collaboration and the promotion of training and innovation through leading centers such as ItaInnova, ZLC or the University of Zaragoza.

APL's boost to the logistics sector in Aragon has highlighted the geostrategic position of the Autonomous Community: its capital accounts for 60% of Spanish GDP within a radius of 300 kilometres. One of the proofs that confirm these fruits and the Aragonese potential in logistics has been the landing of leading firms such as Amazon or the expansion of the Inditex logistics center in Plaza, among many other examples of companies that have decided to establish themselves or grow in the region.

Aragón Logistics Platform brings together this strategic commitment of the Government of Aragon for the logistics sector, also as a vector and engine of development of other relevant economic sectors such as pharmaceuticals, agri-food or the automotive industry. APL integrates a global offer of excellent quality land in Zaragoza (Plaza), Huesca (Plhus) and Teruel (Platea), to which is now added the new platform in Zuera, interconnected by land, sea and air with the main economic centers. The logistics sector already represents more than 5.5% of GDP in Aragon and has almost 26,000 Social Security affiliates, figures that will continue to grow with all the business projects that are being developed.
