WhatsApp launches a novelty that provides more privacy in the application. It's about blocking chats. Although it has been possible for some time to archive conversations so that the list of incoming conversations is not visible, now this new update will allow you to protect the chats you want with passwords. In this way, no one outside will be able to access these conversations; something that has already been baptized as the "blocked snoops".
In the presentation of this novelty, Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta and owner of WhatsApp, gave more details about it: “this function will make your conversations more private. They will be protected in a hidden section with a password and the notifications will not show who sent messages or the content of them. The new feature has already been released and will be available in the next updates of the devices.
The protected chats folder will be displayed above the archived folder, and will be protected with a password or with biometric data. As Zuckerberg indicated, the notifications of the chats stored in this new section will not reveal the sender or the content of the message.
"We think this feature is great for those who occasionally need to share their phone with a family member or times when someone holds your phone at the exact moment a special chat comes your way."
To block the chat you have to touch the name of the person or group in question and select the "block" option. To access it, all you have to do is drag the inbox down slowly and enter your password or biometric data (such as your fingerprint).
