MotoGP GP of Catalonia 2023: schedule and where to watch the Grand Prix race on TV

The roar of high displacement motorcycles will reverberate again at the Montmeló circuit this weekend, marking the return of the MotoGP Grand Prix of Catalonia. This race is the eleventh round of the championship and comes as the third after a five-week break that kept motorcycling fans waiting.

All eyes will be on Pecco Bagnaia, the Italian Ducati rider who arrives as the absolute leader and reigning world champion. With 257 points to his credit, Bagnaia is not only a favorite for the title, but also enjoys a comfortable lead over his closest pursuers. The Spaniard Jorge Martín is in second position with 189 points, closely followed by Marco Bezzecchi, also from Ducati, with 183 points.

If we go back to the Austrian Grand Prix, Bagnaia's stellar performance makes it clear why he is the man to beat. In a brilliant race, he prevailed over KTM's Brad Binder and his own teammate Bezzecchi. His dominance on court has allowed him to establish a significant gap in the World Cup standings, which adds extra pressure for his rivals in Catalunya.

It has gone by little, but Bagnaia will go out first in Catalunya. Aleix Espargaró has stayed very close, having won his first sprint race and will have Oliveira next to him. Viñales and Martín will be on the second row of the grid with Zarco while Álex Márquez will be seventh. Bezzecchi and Marc Márquez will be tenth and eleventh respectively.

For those fans who want to follow every second of this dizzying sport, the unavoidable appointment will be at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 3.

Viewers will be able to tune in to DAZN or enjoy Movistar's sports package. Additionally, RTVE will offer open coverage of the event. They will also be able to follow it through the La Vanguardia website.
