Álvaro Bautista will continue at Ducati next year

The Spanish rider Álvaro Bautista, current Superbike World Champion, announced this Friday that he will continue with Ducati until 2024, since he is "in the best moment" of his career, as he commented at the press conference prior to the weekend at the Circuit of Barcelona-Catalonia.

The man from Talavera de la Reina, current leader of the championship, called a press conference this week in which many thought he could announce his retirement, but he has announced his intention to continue for another year.

"We have decided to continue and I am very happy to continue with Aruba.it Racing – Ducati, with whom I have always had a great relationship. I am happy that they want to continue working with me, even if I am a little older (38 years). One year closer together with the aim of achieving the best results”, highlighted Bautista.

After 21 years at the highest level between MotoGP and Superbikes, he feels "in great shape, both physically and mentally", and has "a lot of fun" with the bike. He also assured that he has "the pleasure of working" with a team that he considers his second family.

The CEO of the Aruba team, Stefano Cecconi, added that they are "extremely happy" to extend Álvaro's contract and it will be a pleasure to continue this collaboration that has "always been excellent both professionally and personally", since "it has brought to the team the first great success, the one we were chasing since 2015".
