A German MP calls for Mazraoui (Bayern) to be expelled from the country for his support of Palestine

Deputy Johannes Steineiger asked FC Bayern to remove Moroccan defender Noussir Mazraoui from the team after he expressed his desire for "a victory for Palestine" following the massacre perpetrated by the terrorist organization Hamas that has unleashed a war in the Gaza Strip.

"The Kurt Landauer club, which was pejoratively called the Jews' club by the Nazis, cannot ignore this," Steiniger said on his Twitter account.

Landauer, who was Jewish, was president of Bayern between 1913 and 1914 and then between 1919 and 1933 when he had to go into exile due to Nazi persecution.

After the war he returned to take over the reins of the club between 1947 and 1951 and in 2013 a tribute was paid to him and he was posthumously elected as one of the club's honorary presidents.

"Dear Bayern officials, please kick him out immediately. Furthermore, the state must use the possibilities it has to expel him from Germany," he added.

For his part, the Moroccan player was forced to explain himself on Instagram as follows: "First of all, I would like to say that it is really disappointing to have to explain what I stand for. There is a situation in which thousands of innocent people are being murdered. My position is that I will work for peace and justice in this world. This means that I will always be against all types of terrorism, hatred and violence. And that is something that I will always support.

That's why I don't understand why people think the opposite of me and why they associate me with hate groups. Today is not about what I think or what you think, every day innocent people die because of this terrible conflict that has gotten out of control. We must all be against and speak against. This is simply inhumane

Finally, I would like to make it clear that it was never my intention to offend or hurt anyone, consciously or unconsciously," he concluded.
