The Aemet warns that the storm will leave winds of up to 100 km/h in two communities

A post-frontal Atlantic circulation will once again leave a winter impression in our country, where strong gusts of wind, precipitation, waves, snow and a general drop in temperatures are expected this Tuesday, according to the forecast of the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet). that maintains notices in all communities, except Extremadura.

Cloudy skies and precipitation will predominate in the northern third, Iberian, Central and eastern Betic systems and, in the Balearic Islands and the Empordà, they will be in the form of showers occasionally accompanied by storms and hail.

The rains are expected to be more abundant in the Cantabrian Sea, upper Ebro, northern Iberia and the Pyrenees, even locally strong or persistent. They will be in the form of snow in the mountains and in surrounding areas, with relatively low levels and probable accumulations of 10-20 cm in the Cantabrian and Pyrenees and 5-10 cm in northern Iberia, with the danger of avalanches.

The Aemet predicts that very intense winds will blow from the west and north in the Peninsula and the Balearic Islands, with strong intervals or very strong gusts in large areas of the northern and eastern halves of the peninsula, the Balearic Islands and Melilla.

For this reason, the warning has been activated in Andalusia, the Balearic Islands, Castilla y León, the Community of Madrid, Castilla - La Mancha, the Region of Murcia, Navarra, the Basque Country and Melilla, where gusts of up to 80 km/h are expected. It will blow even harder in Aragon and Catalonia, with an orange warning, with gusts of up to 100 km/h.

Temperatures will drop in almost the entire country, except in the west of the peninsula where the maximum temperatures will rise and in the Cantabrian Sea where the minimum temperatures will also rise. In no province will the maximum temperature exceed 20 degrees, not even in the Mediterranean area.

Frosts will occur in the mountains of the northern and southeastern half, as well as nearby areas of the northern plateau and east of the southern plateau, weak in general and moderate in the Pyrenees and Sierra Nevada, adds Aemet.
