Prediction for Friday, July 21, 2023 in Spain

In a good part of the country, slightly cloudy skies will predominate without precipitation. However, in the northwest of the Peninsula, an inactive Atlantic front is expected to approach which, in Galicia, the Cantabrian Sea and the surrounding areas, will produce cloudy intervals and isolated rainfall on the coast, which will subside in the afternoon but there will be showers in the interior, with occasional storms. Likewise, in the Pyrenees showers and storms are expected at dawn, which will continue in the afternoon and can be locally strong. In the rest of the northern half, clouds of diurnal evolution will form, without ruling out occasional isolated showers and storms, more likely in the Iberian system.

Intervals of medium and high clouds in the southeast and the Balearic Islands, without ruling out some occasional weak precipitation in the Balearic Islands. In the Canary Islands, low clouds in the north of the islands, without ruling out some light drizzle in the higher relief. Hazes are not ruled out in the extreme southeast of the peninsula, Melilla and the Balearic Islands, or some morning fog in inland Galicia. Temperatures drop in almost the entire country, more sharply in the interior of the peninsula and notably the maximum in the northeast interior. The 34-36 degrees will still be exceeded in the Guadalquivir, southeast and in points of the Balearic Islands, under the Ebro and the coasts of Malaga and Almeria. The minimums also have a predominance of descents, although there will still be equatorial nights on the southern and southeastern Mediterranean coasts and in points of the Balearic Islands.

In the Canary Islands, trade wind regime, strong or with strong intervals and with very strong gusts. Intervals of strong wind, from the west in the Strait and Alborán and tramontana in the Ampurdán. In the rest, north wind in the Ebro valley, northeast in the Balearic Islands, western component on the Atlantic slope, northern component in Galicia at the end and breezes on the rest of the coasts.
