The Community of Madrid approved this Wednesday the decree that establishes the work calendar in the region for the year 2024, which will have a total of 14 holidays, two of them will be set by the city councils, and establishes the day of Santiago Apóstol ( July 25) as a holiday.
According to article 37 of the Workers' Statute, the Governing Council has the power to set the calendar of non-working holidays, which cannot exceed 14 per year.
This issue is submitted for consultation to the parliamentary groups represented in the Madrid Assembly, as well as other most representative economic and social entities and institutions in the region.
The approved decree will be sent to the State before September 30, with the 12 fixed dates, and to which each city council in the region will incorporate the other two that correspond to them.
