When are the final results of the Galician elections of 18-F published?

This Sunday, February 18, very important elections are held for the future of Galicia. At the end of the election day, the provisional results will be known, as a result of the counting of votes by each president and their members of the tables established in the colleges. But these are not the definitive results, since several procedures must be completed before the formation of the Galician parliament is concluded.

The day after the elections, Monday the 19th, the CERA vote (Census of Spanish Resident Absent) will be counted by the Electoral Board, which will include these results in the final count.

It is then that, according to organic law 5/1985, the general scrutiny can begin that will validate and render the results definitive. This general scrutiny will take place by the Electoral Board five days after the elections.

That is, it should start on Friday, February 23. The law contemplates prerogatives for this process to be carried out but designates the eighth day after the elections as the deadline for this scrutiny to take place, so the final results should finally be known on Monday, February 26.

According to the electoral calendar of the Xunta de Galicia, the Presidency of the Electoral Board has a period from March 8 to April 17 to send to Parliament the list of parliamentarians proclaimed in the electoral constituencies.

Between those dates is when, according to the decree published in the DOG (Official Gazette of Galicia), the constitution session of the Galician parliament is scheduled for March 18.
