The success of the actor

The Argentines have just given world politics the last reason for reflection: Javier Milei, unknown a month ago, received 30% of the votes last Sunday. It is a new prodigy for the list of populists – and scumbags – who are driving the governance of so many nations around the world crazy. If anyone wants to be relieved, they can think that, before the election, all the polls showed Milei as the winner. If someone wants to sympathize, they can do so considering that Argentina had it extremely difficult: to vote for Massa was to vote for the last person responsible for a disastrous economic policy and to vote for Milei was to hand over the State to a man with initiatives that deserve psychiatrist exam This is the outlook for the second round.

We have to ask once again why an individual of meager background and regular team has been on the verge of entering the Pink House, boosted in the rallies and praised in the polls after flaunting the histrionics of a jester as a major contribution of his candidacy, and I'm afraid there is only one answer: to the embarrassment of the current politicians. Personal biographies and parties that fell into the sin of moderation have been punished for several years. Large organizations were even sentenced to death, such as the Socialist Party of France, the Socialist and Communist parties of Italy or the very powerful Christian Democracy, also from Italy. Some were defeated by groups of comedians who ran for election.

When a guillat is about to defeat the candidate of Peronism at the polls, with all his history, implantation and even clientelism, one of two things: either this Peronist candidate is the wrong man because he has proven not to be the manager that Argentina requires, or has had to pay the price paid by traditional managers in much of the world. Since both factors usually coincide, here is (and sorry for the cliché) the breeding ground of all the perversions we witness. And, since this breeding ground exists, only one detail is missing for the triumph of the actors: that they be encouraged to compete. So they do it, they have the possibility of sweeping the entire current political class off the stage. I think that I have not made a mistake in writing the entire current political class.
