The PSC deploys its defense of the amnesty in the face of “doubts”: “We defend the same thing as in 2017, coexistence”

After the express defense on Saturday by the general secretary of the PSOE of an amnesty law for the events derived from the 'procés', the actors involved in this proposal have begun a process of explanation and justification of it. It's time to argue the reason for the 180-degree turn before friends and strangers, after months and months of denying this recipe. And that's where the socialists are, not least those of Catalonia, who have already begun to defend the amnesty to those who may have "doubts": "We defend the same thing as in 2017, coexistence and reunion"

This was stated by the deputy secretary of organization of the PSC, Lluïsa Moret, at a press conference this Saturday from the party headquarters, where she appeared to give details of the internal consultation that will be held until next Saturday to ratify the government agreement. with Sumar.

After the party leader, Salvador Illa, indicated this Sunday that he expressed “unwavering” support and claimed “trust” for Sánchez in relation to the amnesty, Moret has reiterated that position with another message directed at the socialist voter reluctant with this plan. . "We understand that some people have doubts about this, but we really believe that we defend the same values as in 2017: betting and working intensely for coexistence and reunion between Catalans and Spaniards."

The leader has expressed what is now a “clear, explicit and shared position between the PSC and the PSOE” in favor of the amnesty, which in her opinion “evidence that we are the best guarantee for territorial cohesion and to continue working for the reunion, normality and cordiality in Catalonia and Spain.” And to try to address any doubts that may exist among militancy or socialist voters, Moret has insisted that "we are clear that the amnesty has to be deployed within the constitutional framework."

But the consultation among the militancy that is already underway only questions the government pact with Sumar and not the amnesty. In the formulation of the question, only reference is made to “getting the support of other political parties to obtain the necessary majority”, but the socialists are aware that this consultation will be received as a plebiscite on amnesty, which is why they do not intend to to call another consultation with the militancy when the agreement with the pro-independence parties is a reality and includes this measure.
