The program of the Popular Party that was presented yesterday in a solemn event by its leader and candidate for the presidency of the Government, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, includes the modification of some of the laws that the current Central Executive changed with the intention of leaving behind the process, whose legal case brought nine Catalan politicians to prison and keeps a handful of pro-independence militants accused.

Among the measures included in the program is the recovery of the crime of sedition in the Penal Code "improving and updating its classification, to punish the most serious forms of constitutional disloyalty". The proposal also proposes to regulate other "disloyalties of institutions aimed at endangering peace and constitutional order, either through the calling of referendums or unauthorized consultations or machinations aimed at undermining Spain's credit".

In addition, they propose to recover the crime of embezzlement in the formulation prior to the reform promoted by the Sánchez Government and also to modify the pardon law "to strengthen the Government's motivation for the right of clemency".
