Deputies of Compromís point to Vicent Marzà as a candidate for the Europeans

Vicent Marzà, ex-counselor for Education with the Botanic, could be the Compromís candidate for the European lists in which the Valencian formation will finally go to number three in the European candidacy after its negotiations with Sumar. Several leaders of the formation have pointed out on social networks Marzà's candidacy for the Europeans.

The one who has made his candidacy official is Jordi Sebastià, who was the first member of the European Parliament of Compromís. This Saturday, at the National Council for More Commitment, Sebastià has confirmed that he is running in the primaries of the formation to participate in the European elections. As he assured on the social network "X", Sebastià is confident that "just like in 2014, the European elections will be the beginning of the comeback of Compromís and the end of the Government of PP and Vox".

Thus, the deputy in Corts Valencianes Gerard Fullana pointed out yesterday that the deputy for Castellón would have to take a step forward to be the MEP for Compromís. "Your conviction of him is a guarantee of defense of the Valencian interests of our people," he wrote yesterday on the social network "X."

Likewise, his colleague on the Valencian party Verònica Ruiz classified him as "the person who will best defend the interests of the working majority of the Valencian Country" in another message spread on the same social network.

Next Monday, April 15, the primary process will begin, which will end with a vote open to citizens on April 27 to choose the Compromís candidate who will go on Sumar's list. There will be no gender correction, and whoever wins the vote will be number three. This was decided in the Compromís executive last Thursday, April 11, in which its executive ratified - with only one vote against and one abstention - the agreement reached with the party led by Vice President Yolanda Díaz.

In the list for the elections on June 9, it has been confirmed that Jaume Asens, from Catalunya en Comú, will have number 2, behind the head of the list proposed by Sumar, Estrella Galán. The IU candidate, Manu Pineda, would occupy position 4, despite this being the only rooted formation in all of Spain that is integrated into Sumar, which is why this formation expressed its "discomfort." The Federal Collegiate or Executive Commission of Izquierda Unida and the coordinators of the territorial federations agreed yesterday to ask Sumar for more details about its proposal for the European elections and to officially decide whether to accept it or not at a meeting of the Federal Coordinator the week after the Basque elections.
