A large majority of americans want, there must be new witnesses in rigsretssagen against president Donald Trump, who really went in on Tuesday in the Senate.

It shows a poll by news agency Reuters/Ipsos published on Wednesday. The measurement is made from the 17. 22. January,

A proposal from Democrats to convene, among others, Trumps the former national security adviser John Bolton and Trumps chief of staff, Mike Mulvaney, was on the first day voted down in the Senate, where Republicans have the majority.

Over 70 percent of those surveyed in the measurement, believes that "persons with first-hand knowledge of the charges against Trump should give evidence".

Trump has previously called for, among others, John Bolton and secretary of state Mike Pompeo not to participate in the rigsretssagen.

A significant majority also believe that the 100 members of the Senate should put partiinteresser behind and "act as impartial jurors".

the Measurement also shows that the attitude among the voters to rigsretssagen has not changed markedly since the Democrats in the House of Representatives, the other chamber of Congress, in december, decided that there should be raised an impeachment.

About 44 percent say that Trump must be allocated, while 31 percent say that the charges against the president rejected. Another 15 percent think that Congress should give him a reprimand.

Trump is charged with official misconduct and to obstruct the Congressional investigation of the case.

Hovedpåstanden relates to a telephone conversation, as Trump in July 2019 had with the president of Ukraine, Volodimir Zelenskij.

Trump tried allegedly to push Zelenskij to try to find incriminating material on the democrat Joe biden's son, who for a period served on the board of an energy company in Ukraine.

Joe Biden is among the favorites to be nominated as the Democratic candidate for the presidential election in november.
