The Aemet gives the date of the return of the rains to Spain: these will be the most affected areas

This Friday, an Atlantic low is expected to approach the northwest of the peninsula and leave a progressive increase in instability in the Peninsula and the Balearic Islands, with cloudy or overcast skies. In addition, Huesca (Aragón) and Lleida (Catalonia) will be on a rainfall warning.

According to the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet), rainfall is expected in Galicia and the Cantabrian Sea, extending to the rest of the extreme north and northwest third of the peninsula. These may be accompanied by storms and hail.

In this sense, AEMET does not rule out that rainfall may become locally heavy in Galicia and western Asturias. However, occasional showers may arrive in the afternoon to other areas of the northern half, eastern interiors and occasionally in the Balearic Islands, where they could also occur early in the day. At the same time, the prediction does not rule out precipitation in the extreme southwest of the peninsula.

As for temperatures, the maximum temperatures will decrease in the Canary Islands and the southwestern half of the peninsula, increasing in the northeastern half and the Balearic Islands. On the other hand, the minimums will decrease in the Canary Islands and the southwestern quadrant of the peninsula, increasing in the Pyrenees and areas of the southeast, and without major changes in the rest.

Thus, the highest values in the entire country will be those of Murcia (26ºC), Almería, Málaga and Santa Cruz de Tenerife (24ºC) and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (23ºC).

Meanwhile, the snow level will be 1,400/1,800 meters in the northern mountains and there will be weak frosts in mountain areas of the northern half.

Finally, probable scattered morning fog banks are expected in the mountains and southeast of the peninsula. In addition, the trade wind will blow in the Canary Islands, west in the Strait and, with strong intervals, in Alborán. Likewise, there will be a predominance of winds from the south and east in the Levant and northeast of the peninsula, and from the west and southwest in the rest. Specifically, it will worsen in inland areas in the afternoon and will roll over in the Cantabrian Sea.
