The five arrested in Malaga for assault and racist insults against another man are released

They had attacked and uttered racist insults to a man of North African origin at the Malaga airport for arriving with a private car and providing a taxi service illegally and they ended up arrested. Today, the five arrested individuals have been provisionally released by order of the Investigative Court number 2 of the capital of the Sol, on guard duty.

This has been confirmed by sources from the Superior Court of Justice of Andalusia (TSJA), from where it has been detailed that the attack took place last weekend and that the detainees are being investigated for the alleged commission of hate crimes and injuries.

Sources have indicated that the five took advantage of their right not to testify, pointing out that at least one of them is a taxi driver by profession. In addition, a restraining order has been issued against all of them with respect to the attacked person.

The National Police arrested these five men, between 24 and 36 years old, for their alleged responsibility in the group attack on a man of Arab origin that occurred in the early hours of April 21, which was captured by the mobile phones of several passengers in the arrivals terminal.

Witnesses pointed to a dispute between taxi drivers, on the one hand, and illegal drivers, on the other, as a possible background for the brawl. Furthermore, the majority of those detained have a history of similar acts linked to a group with a radical ideology.

The incident occurred around 1:00 a.m. last Sunday when a group of nine people allegedly attacked and insulted a citizen with racist comments, who, according to investigations, offered passenger transportation services in his private vehicle, without authorization to do so.

The victim, 41 years old, suffered trauma and multiple bruises as a result of the attack. According to the investigations, the attack was initiated by one of those investigated, joined by eight other people, in such a way that all of them, at one point during the assault, punched and kicked the victim, also uttering racist comments, according to the National Police.
