the 22-year-old Sofia Jirau there are no obstacles, even though she is born with Down syndrome. Sofia impressed namely in the degree of audience as she 10. February walked the catwalk during fashion week in New York city for the designer Marisa Santiago.

The 22-year-old Sofia, who is born and raised in Puerto Rico, got his life's dream fulfilled as a model in New York. But she says that it is only the beginning of something much bigger.

Sofia has even put a post out on Instagram, where she writes:

'I will continue to be a model in the rest of the world'

Sofia had his whole family with him to New York as support.

'It felt really good to walk the catwalk in front of my whole family. All applauded me,' says Sofie for the People. And on Instagram she explains:

'Thank you to all my family to accompany me here, to New York. I love you everywhere on the earth. You will always be in my heart'.

The only 22-year-old Sofia was also supported by a whole team of volunteers who help her achieve her goals. They help among other things with the logistics surrounding her fashion shows and photo-sessions. Her next goal is to come to Europe to walk the catwalk.

One of the volunteers behind the Down syndrome-hit model is Armando Lorenzo, who tells that they are trying to make contact with european designers, so Sofia can get even a dream fulfilled.

The young model is also beginning to live out his dream of becoming a businesswoman. She has created her own collection, which has been given the name 'Alawett'. The name is directly inspired by the comment, Sofia uses when she says his favorite phrase in English: 'I love it'.
