UGT-PV wins the elections at the Ford plant and secures 71% of the works council

The UGT-PV union managed yesterday to revalidate its sixth absolute majority at the Ford Almussafes plant. Clear winner of the union elections in the Valencian plant with 2,713 votes, the formation adds 22 union delegates compared to those of CCOO-PV and CGT that did not get any delegate since they have obtained 150 and 141 votes, respectively. In the last elections they obtained three and two delegates, respectively, inform union sources.

For UGT-PV, the victory revalidates its "commitment to the squad" and serves to continue working for the future that "we all deserve". The union was key in the Agreement for the Electrification of the plant, a fundamental step in the struggle for the allocation of the electric platform in Europe that finally, last June, Ford of Europe assigned to Valencia against the German Saarlouis.

"The results obtained only guarantee our commitment to the entire workforce and redouble our work to achieve the future that we all deserve," said the union, which had the express support at the factory of the general secretary of UGT PV, Ismael Sáez.

The fourth union, STM-Intersindical, adds 9 delegates by obtaining 1,321 votes and is "satisfied" with the results despite having little affiliation at the plant. The STM spokesman, Dani Portillo regretted that "two unions with so much history in Ford" have been left out of the Committee and has assured that if an ERE occurs, they will fight so that the departures are not traumatic.

In these union elections there was a census of 20% fewer workers due to the reduction in staff undertaken in recent years, and four fewer delegates on the Company Committee.
