Aitana Mas lowers the tension over renewables and calls for more coordination in their processing

The Valencian government tries to ensure that blood does not reach the river and that the obvious disagreements between leftist groups on how to deal with the implementation of renewables does not generate more tensions within the Botànic. If on Thursday it was the president of the Generalitat, Ximo Puig, who opened the door to a minimum agreement -the PSPV does not contemplate returning to the situation prior to the approval of the renewable energy decree-, yesterday it was the vice president, Aitana Mas, the one that asked to reduce the "noise" and downplayed the differences shown these days in the Valencian Parliament.

The leader of Compromís -the formation that together with Unides Podem has signed the amendments that call into question the current protocols for the implementation of these energies- pointed out that, in terms of photovoltaics, the Valencian Community has already installed 1,000 megawatts and still has seven years to implement another 5,000 with the goal of reaching 6,000 megawatts by 2030. "These are figures higher than those of Madrid and Catalonia," she argued.

Despite this, the spokesperson for the Consell acknowledged that "there are possibilities to improve and coordinate the processing", but "it is trying to coordinate the three departments competent in the matter" to achieve a balance between respect for the landscape and the territory and the firm progress towards the goal of 2030. ""We continue to work enormously and, now yes, I hope in a coordinated manner", Mas clarified.

A note in his argument with which he implied that up to now this unit of action had been lacking within the Consell. In fact, it cannot be ignored that Mireia Mollà. The Minister of Agriculture whose departure was promoted by Mas herself, had sown doubts about the speed of other departments of the regional Executive.

However, the number two of the Consell wanted to specify that "it is not easy" when three departments have to work together with their peculiarities. To do this, along the lines that Ximo Puig underlined on Thursday, Mas stated that the Consell has increased the staff dedicated to streamlining renewable energy procedures and is carrying out "huge" work.

In this context, Mas assured that he does not see any special "tension" in Les Corts between the Botànic groups, but that he sees a "debate around proposals". A position contrary to what he, in his opinion, takes from the opposition bench where they are in charge of generating "quarrels for quarrels." "I was embarrassed by yesterday's control session," he said.
