The Guardia Civil y los Mossos d'Esquadra han investigated that of the neighbors of L'Hospitalet de Llobregat for alleged extortion of a man from Culleredo, in A Coruña.

Both individuals were investigated as part of an operation called 'Jurbanko' and are also considered members of a criminal organization.

The investigation began on October 9 when the victim reported that a person was extorting him under the threat of sending hitmen. Specifically, she asked him for money for not having attended an alleged appointment with a prostitute, according to the Civil Guard. Under this threat, the man made several transfers to the extortionists worth more than 8,000 euros.

Within the framework of the investigation, the Civil Guard identified eight people who would make up the entire criminal group, based in Barcelona. They also identified the distribution of tasks for each member, such as extortion itself, receiving income, and sending the money to the final recipients.

Once the identity of the members of the group was known, the Civil Guard asked the Mossos for collaboration to investigate them. The Catalan police have investigated the two residents of L'Hospitalet and are now continuing the investigations to locate and investigate the other six.

The proceedings have been made available to the Investigating Court number two of A Coruña.
