The woman who jumped into the void in Avilés dies with her seven-year-old daughter

The woman who threw herself in Avilés from a fifth floor with her seven-year-old daughter in her arms has died at the Central University Hospital of Asturias, where she has been hospitalized since the events occurred on the 5th, hospital sources reported by the Efe agency.

Despite the girl's screams for her not to throw her out of the window, mother and daughter plunged and fell onto a parked car, which broke their fall, before sprawling on the pavement.

The head of the duty court withdrew custody and parental authority of her daughter from the mother, issued a restraining order and did not recognize any visiting regime for the minor who, after being transferred to the same hospital, is outside of danger, according to the father's lawyer.

This is not the only cause that his client has open with his daughter's maternal family, after those that were filed in 2017 and 2018 for mistreatment between the two were closed, one of which corresponds to an alleged crime of threats by the maternal grandfather.

The latter remains in provisional detention at the Asturias Penitentiary Center as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of attempted homicide and violation of a restraining order from the girl's father, who on the day of the events waited in a doorway with a knife, hammer and pepper spray

In his statement before the judge, the grandfather acknowledged the facts and justified them in the tension and nerves that the fact that his granddaughter's father had recovered the visiting regime had caused the entire family, according to his lawyer's account, Maria Luisa Nevado.

In addition, the grandfather has a third case open for a few months for another attempted assault with a knife that also led to a restraining order.

Since they stopped living together shortly after the girl was born in 2016, there have been complaints between the parents and both have been convicted of ill-treatment.

According to the lawyer, another complaint also ended in dismissal that, as a result of the father requesting joint custody, the mother filed for sexual abuse of the girl when she was four years old, which led to supervised visits for the father for three years.
