Some heroes don't wear capes. This is the case of some barbers from East Harford, Connecticut (USA) who have saved the life of a three-year-old girl, who was about to be run over.
According to NBC, the barbers from Look Sharp Barbershop ran to rescue the little girl, who was heading towards an intersection just as a truck passed by: “My reaction was not just to look, it was to run and catch up with the girl. Thank God we had time to get to her,” says one of them.
The protagonists of this story, Osvaldo Lugo and Rafael Santana, claim that they only thought about acting, without taking into account the consequences: “Ten more steps and the truck would have hit her,” says Santana.
This scare took place on April 10 at 11:30 a.m., when both barbers were serving their clients. Santana saw the girl running down the road through the window: "I was alone on my way to one of the busiest streets in East Hartford... that's the instinct of a father, I'm a father too," says the barber.
As can be seen on the security cameras, the minor was playing in the street when she began to run in another direction. "When I grabbed her, the only thing I saw was innocence... and the only thing she said was 'mom, mom, mom,'" says Lugo, who quickly looked for her mother.
After a few minutes, the barbers found the girl's mother at a bus stop: "The mother pressed her chest, as if to say 'Wow, thank God.' She picked up the girl, the bus arrived, she got on and He said goodbye to me through the window." Fortunately, the girl is in perfect condition.
