Although they try to get closer, the weight of pain over Jimena's death gets in the way, creating a chasm that is difficult to overcome between them. Meanwhile, Lorenzo discovers that Pelayo has caught him talking to the supposed buyer, thus revealing his plot to destabilize Catalina. Despite the captain's threats, the young count decides to be honest with Catalina, who is devastated in Simona's arms.
