A Kurdish activist and his family deported to Iran after failing to obtain asylum from Barcelona

A Kurdish activist, his pregnant wife and their minor son were deported to Iran this Friday morning from Barcelona Airport after seeing their asylum request rejected.

The firm Arrels Advocades, which represents the activist, has indicated in a tweet that the return has been made before the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) has ruled on the request for precautionary measures that the lawyer Jordi Naya presented on Thursday. to try to avoid deportation.

The lawyer also presented a request for very precautionary measures to the National Court (AN), which the court rejected, and police sources told Europa Press that the Asylum and Refuge Office of the Ministry of the Interior examined the family's request twice, and that the activist incurred "contradictions due to the changes in his version, first he alluded to the fact that in Iran he was persecuted for a sentence and then he said that it was for religious reasons, being a Christian."
