What is 'well-aging'? The concept that sweeps beauty

For years, the world of beauty and cosmetics has focused on combating the signs of aging. Anti-wrinkle creams, surgical treatments, dyeing gray hair... 'Anti aging' ruled the roost until relatively recently, but that is over.

Because now the opposite concept is taking on more and more prominence, a trend that is gaining momentum and that advocates embracing the passage of time instead of rejecting or camouflaging it. This is what “well aging” consists of.

If until now you were worried that your age would show on your face or you lied when asked how old you are, you should know that naturalness and self-care from a global and holistic perspective are the norm, no matter how many candles you have blown out.

Although the concept of 'well aging' has been around for years, it has not stopped growing in popularity for some time now. The term 'anti aging' can be translated as anti-aging, with a certain aftertaste of discriminatory background and rejection. Something like a call not to grow old, to reveal yourself against nature and biology, putting dams against the unstoppable prey of the passage of time.

Instead, 'well aging' advocates aging well. This concept of beauty defends embracing the passage of time, but without ceasing to take care of ourselves both inside and out, putting health as a priority. The bet is well-being and naturalness, fleeing from false promises of cosmetics that claim to be miraculous, as well as treatments that deform facial features.

In other words, 'well aging' defends feeling proud of one's age, showing the best version of oneself thanks to health care and promotion. The key is to age naturally, not with complexes, shame or insecurities.

However, this does not mean that creams or facial care treatments aimed at reducing wrinkles, loss of firmness or spots cannot be used. Nor is it a war song against aesthetic medicine interventions. Simply seek that all this is done with the purpose of taking care of yourself, accepting yourself and feeling good, always with a natural result. Instead of doing it out of rejection of aging itself.

The 'well aging' is based on self-care. Therefore, one of its keys is to adopt healthy habits, such as following a balanced diet and exercising regularly. With this we strengthen our health, but we also improve the condition of our skin. Especially if we eat foods rich in antioxidants and stay hydrated.

On the other hand, it appeals to keep stress at bay, which causes very negative effects on our health and even accentuates the appearance of wrinkles and gray hair. Likewise, it is contrary to certain harmful habits such as the abuse of alcohol and tobacco. In terms of cosmetics, she opts for those that improve the condition of the skin, but always in a natural way.
