This is the most photogenic cheese sandwich in Japan: it is rainbow-colored and delicious

Harajuku, an iconic neighborhood in Tokyo, is not only a hotbed of alternative fashions and youth subcultures, but also a unique and visually stunning food scene. In this lively district, whose heart beats on the narrow Takeshita Street, almost everything is in the colors of the rainbow, including the food.

Among the most requested and photographed delicacies are cotton candy, WhatsApp poops and, of course, the rainbow-colored grilled cheese sandwich. The latter, which costs 6 euros, captures the essence of Japanese innovation: a cheese sandwich that, when stretched, unfolds a rainbow of colors.

The popularity of this peculiar snack has been corroborated by Joe Burgerchallenge, a content creator who shares his culinary adventures on his social networks. After trying the grilled colored cheese, Burgerchallenge rated both the presentation and the taste of the product very positively.

As striking as this sandwich is, there isn't much room for surprise in its preparation. As the gastronomic influencer has explained, they are only slices of bread with cheese passed through various dyes safe for human consumption, which are what create the colored stripes.

This way, as the cheese melts inside the sandwich and stretches when bitten or cut, the different shades mix and unfold, creating a rainbow-like visual effect. "Can there be anything happier than this?" asked Burgerchallenge, who assured that no one can resist "this beautiful thing."
