Blind tastings can be a double-edged sword, since they may provide new experiences but they can also lead you to wonder if what you are eating really tastes better or worse due to your own suggestion or if its quality is really the only thing that matters.
Proof of this is Ibai Llanos, the popular streamer who has put himself to the test with a curious tasting: he has to guess which cheese is cheap from the supermarket and which is top quality and much more expensive, a seemingly simple task but with a lot of crumbs.
When putting them on the plate, the organizers already have doubts as to which of the two is the best, because in appearance they are very similar, but the value changes radically: one costs 50 euros per kilo and the other 10 euros per kilo.
However, Ibai is clear from the beginning and surprises everyone. As soon as he sinks his teeth into the expensive cheese, he leaves his verdict without having to wait to try the lesser value: “This is the expensive one, almost one hundred percent sure,” says the Basque.
Then, when he tastes the supermarket cheese, he confirms his opinion: “This one tastes less, this one is the cheap one,” he says. However, there is a small obstacle that may make him doubt when he takes off the blindfold: “Looking at them, I would say that this is the expensive one,” he says, pointing to the supermarket cheese.
Ibai's palate does not fail and he finally decides to stick with his initial decision and, indeed, the streamer is right: “I am unstoppable,” he reminds his partner for his good culinary judgment.
