Postcards of spring snow in the Pyrenees

I captured this series of photographs for Las Fotos de los Lectores de La Vanguardia, with snow in El Puigmal and Collet de les Barraques.

The white landscape seems to take us back to winter, from 1800 meters above sea level. And we see the chamois showing themselves on the snow, with a thickness of 3 cm, but, however, not at all cold. A white spring in the Pyrenees.

The route to the Collet de les Barraques leaves the town of Planoles, located on the road that goes from Ribes de Freser to the Collada de Tosses. Once we arrive at our destination we will be able to enjoy these spectacular views of the Serra de Montgrony and the white peaks.

El Puigmal, in Alta Cerdanya, is the second highest mountain in the demarcation of Girona, with 2,914 meters, and is located on the border between Spain and France.

Located between the municipalities of Queralbs (Ripollès) and Err (Alta Cerdanya, Eastern Pyrenees), the Puigmal is the highest of the peaks that make up the so-called Gran Olla that surrounds the Valle de Núria.

It is a wide and rounded top. And, for those more accustomed to mountaineering, the ascent is easy if the weather conditions are not very adverse.
