John Travolta, broken when presenting the 'In memoriam' at the Oscars

One of the most emotional moments of the Oscars ceremony is when the 'In memoriam' section arrives, dedicated to artists and professionals from the world of cinema who have died in the last year. This edition has been John Travolta who has presented the section, giving way to a beautiful performance by Lenny Kravitz.

The actor was really moved during his speech, since, although he has not mentioned names, in recent months he has lost two of his best friends in the profession, Olivia Newton-John, his unforgettable partner in Grease, and Kristie Alley, an interpreter with the one who co-starred in the saga Look who's talking. Also, it's been over a year since he lost his wife Kelly Preston to breast cancer.

Among the faces that have appeared on the screen have been those of James Caan, Ray Liotta, Raquel Welch or Gina Lollobrigida. The Academy has forgotten Carlos Saura, just as it happened at the Bafta.

Olivia Newton-John died last August at the age of 73, a victim of breast cancer with which she had been fighting for years. For her part, Alley, 71, passed away on December 5 from colon cancer.
