Yon González, in psychopath mode in the trailer for 'Memento Mori'

“I hate you so much that I'm scared myself,” Yon González intones in the trailer for Memento Mori. It is possibly the image that viewers will remember ahead of the premiere of the Amazon Prime Video series. And, instead of being endearing with the Bravo song by Enrique Bunbury and Nacho Vegas, the actor known for titles such as The Internship, Under Suspicion or The Cable Girls is especially disturbing: he is the psychopath of the show.

Memento Mori adapts the first novel by César Pérez Gellida from the trilogy Verses, songs and pieces of meat. It tells the investigation of Inspector Sancho (Francisco Ortiz) and serial killer expert Carapocha (Juan Echanove), who follow the trail of Augusto (Yon González), a psychopath with refined tastes, who leaves corpses around the city. He commits the crimes with a soundtrack and signs the victims' bodies with poems.

The series is written by Germán Aparicio (Cuerpo de elite), Luis Arranz (El Cid) and Abraham Sastre (Los hombres de Paco), it has a first season of six episodes and will premiere on Amazon Prime Video this coming October 27. It represents a change of record for González, who is generally known for his role as a romantic heartthrob in period fiction such as Las Chicas del Cable, Gran Hotel or the imminent Beguinas, or having acted as a police officer in Under Suspicion.

The cast is completed by Manuela Vellés (Cites), Olivia Baglivi (Brigada Costa del Sol), Juan Fernández (El Cid), Fernando Soto (La casa de papel), Alicia Sánchez (Sky Rojo), Carlota Baró (The Cable Girls) or Juanma Lara (The Prince).
