Two singles star in a tense disagreement in 'First Dates': ''That's not love and it's nothing''

The most romantic space on television closed its doors for another week with great moments between its different diners. On Friday night, Carlos Sobera and Laura Boado welcomed single men and women, who showed up to First Dates with the hope of finding their soulmate within the four walls of the most famous restaurant on the small screen.

But going to a television program does not guarantee finding the right person. Something that Nora, a 19-year-old Basque girl, experienced firsthand, who considered herself very open in love. ''I like to love people and experience love, but in an open way,'' she declared. In love, she had not been particularly lucky, and although she was now looking to meet a boy, she was not closed off from meeting girls. ''I'm attracted to girls too,'' she commented. But yes, she had to be someone willing to have an open relationship.

His date was going to be Unai, a 19-year-old Basque young man, who resides in Vitoria and who confessed to having had a pretty bad time in love because he had been a bit of a hussy as a child. As soon as he crossed the door of the restaurant and saw Nora for the first time, the bachelor was clear about his decision. ''I didn't like it. My tastes are different physically. I like smaller girls, not so feminine,'' he said.

Moments later, the presenter accompanied the couple to their table, where the evening began. The bachelor started the dinner by confessing that he was a very picky eater, so he decided to order spaghetti first. A decision that was not going to make Nora very excited. ''That it doesn't come out of some spaghetti for me is an impediment because I love going out to eat in droves,'' she asserted.

For her part, Nora said that she had gone one step further and had been a vegetarian for a year. ''I think it's a way to get attention. I love animals very much, I have respect for them, but food is the most important thing in the world and if you have to eat meat, you eat it,'' Unai declared.

The date was progressing and the singles didn't seem to be getting along. Another example of their great differences was their musical tastes. Nora confessed to being a big techno fan and Unai asked her if she partied a lot. ''If I go out it's because I'm going to a rave,'' she responded. ''I don't like. "These are parties that don't attract my attention and are out of control," said the bachelor.

At one point during the evening, the singles opened up about their past relationships. Unai said that she had had two partners and that they had been closed relationships. For her part, Nora confessed that she had had several relationships, but now she only wanted an open one. A confession that scandalized the bachelor. ''I flip in colors. It's a spectacular thing. That is not love nor is it anything,'' he declared.

''An open relationship is also a dating relationship,'' commented Nora. ''What's up, I don't do those things. I couldn't stand that, I think it makes me depressed,'' Unai responded. ''In general, we have been instilled with a model of relationship, monogamy,'' she said. ''What is monogamy?'' Unai asked. ''I was surprised that he doesn't know what monogamy is when it's the type of love he practices,'' Nora asserted. After several minutes arguing about what a serious relationship meant for them, the singles rejected each other in the final decision.
