The mayor of Checa, a friend of Juan Ortega, empathizes with the bullfighter's attitude: "Consistency with his principles"

The scare of the bullfighter Juan Ortega to the cardiologist Carmen Otte at the altar continues to give something to talk about weeks later. What happened in Jerez de la Frontera two weekends ago turned current affairs upside down, filling magazines and talk shows with rumors, data and questions that no one has yet been able to resolve. Although the exact whereabouts of both remain unknown, Ortega is known in his town.

This is the town of Checa, in the province of Guadalajara, about 85 kilometers from Teruel. Manuel del Valle, a reporter from Vamos a ver, has traveled there to try to clarify the doubts that still linger about the environment. During the final stretch of this Wednesday's program, Joaquín Prat was able to speak with his mayor, the socialist Jesús Alba Mansilla, who highlighted the right-hander's good attitude and his religious sentiment.

“I believe that in the end it is a matter of coherence with your principles, with your feelings. We believe that it is a couple issue between them, that they have to solve, that we have not given it more importance here,” she explained. Likewise, he wanted to praise his skills with the cape, ensuring that “time slows down” every time he jumps into the ring. An importance that he has given to explain what happened, given his level of sensitivity.

Del Valle has also explained that, despite having been together for the last ten years, the townspeople cannot put a face to Carmen Otte. The mayor has tried to explain this situation as a result of the bullfighter's work commitments: despite having lived in the town until he was 16 or 18 years old, life outside the municipal limits could be the reason. Likewise, the Telecinco reporter has asked several neighbors about the matter.

They all agree that Juan Ortega is a beautiful person and, also, very religious. They have also highlighted not knowing Carmen Otte, in addition to some of them insisting that they would not interfere in this type of personal matters. His statements are similar to those of other personalities who have spoken out on the matter, including his close friend Juan de Val and other colleagues, unable to know what has happened.

Another victim who had words for the media, despite wanting no interaction with them, was the bride's father. Miguel Ángel Otte, trying to avoid multiple reporters who wanted to extract a statement from him in Jerez, reacted forcefully: “Everything is very painful and we are not going to talk. Everything that is being told is a lie. We have nothing more to say. Leave us alone.”
